Donald William Olson, 93, of Kennedy, NY, died Sunday, September 25, 2022 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Jamestown, NY on November 22, 1928, the son of the late William Edward and the late Mildred Elnora Hallquist Olson.

Donald was a 1948 graduate of Falconer High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Artillery Division.

Donald was employed in many different places including the Chautauqua County Highway Department, was the manager of a feed mill for Ralston-Purina Co., Jamestown Public Schools and Jamestown Community College , and also worked in shipping and receiving at WCA Hospital. as a Bon Ton store.

He was a 4-H club leader and was a member of the Conewango Valley Kennel Club, Chautauqua County Poultry Fanciers Association and Viking Lodge. Donald enjoyed breeding and showing purebred dogs and poultry.

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Sears Olson; one son, Jeffery Olson (Dana); one grandson, Todd Lerow; two granddaughters: Brandy Tauber and Sarah Heyer; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews in the Erie and Jamestown, NY areas.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Parker; and two brothers: Burdette Olson and Lee Allen Olson.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at East Lake Road Alliance Church, 4500 East Lake Road, Erie, PA 16511, Saturday, October 8 at 11 a.m., led by Pastor David Voelker.
