EAA Airventure begins in Oshkosh: “Aviation Super Bowl”
OSHKOSH, Wisconsin. – You don’t have to be aviation lover to enjoy EAA AirVenture which is now underway in Oshkosh.
âIt’s the Super Bowl of aviation,â said Patrick Lutker of Illinois.
âWe come here to have fun, hang out with friends and watch the planes fly,â said Riley Wasson of Missouri.
âI come here, it’s like a family reunion. It’s just fun. You’re going to meet people that you could relate to and come back every year just to see them,â said Pat Marsh of the Illinois.
Whether you’ve loved airplanes your entire life or just wasn’t interested in them, there is something in Oshkosh for everyone.
âYou never know how much there is in aviation and how many opportunities you may have in terms of a career or a hobby, especially for women. I have met a lot of female pilots today. , which is more than what I’m used to doing every year, so it’s exciting, âsaid Kelsey Hickman of Oregon.
People come by car or plane to camp for the entire week of the show. This is something that organizers say is one of the many pieces of equipment they are happy to bring back this year.

âThe theme this year is ‘The wait is over’ because we had to wait a whole year to do it. Last year was unhappy, it was the right decision, but to bring everyone together there is enthusiasm and excitement and everyone wants to participate this year, âsaid Dick Knapinski, EAA spokesperson.
