National media treat Vikings like Bishop Sycamore this week

Just about everyone in the national media expects the Arizona Cardinals to beat the Minnesota Vikings in their Week 2 clash on Sunday.

After the first week of the 2021 season, the Minnesota Vikings sit with a 0-1 record. One look at how most of the national media currently views the Vikings and you’d think they lost 40 home turf points to the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend.

However, this is not what happened. Minnesota lost by a grand total of three points, in overtime and on the road to a Cincinnati Bengals team that has significantly improved several of their groups of positions during the offseason.

The Vikings also shot themselves in the foot in their Week 1 loss by shooting a double-digit penalty count that consistently put them in a difficult position on both sides of the ball. While there is a very legitimate chance that Minnesota will rebound with a much better performance in week 2, no one seems to give them a chance against the Arizona Cardinals.

National media don’t trust Minnesota Vikings beating Arizona Cardinals

Before Sunday, the Cardinals are currently preferred to beat the Vikings by at least 3.5 points according to the latest odds. by WynnBET.

3.5 points doesn’t seem like enough to be 100% sure Arizona has a win this week. Minnesota were favored by a similar amount in Week 1 and they obviously didn’t take a win.

Despite the narrow points spread and the Vikings having a good chance of turning things around this week, the majority of the national media have the Cardinals leaving the field on Sunday with a victory.

10 of the 11 NFL experts from ESPN, seven of the eight experts of CBS Sports, and four of the five experts from Illustrated sports chose Arizona to defeat Minnesota this weekend.

A lot of these pundits are going to have a lot of explaining to do if the Vikings can pull off the “upheaval” and secure a win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
