NPU Volleyball does a quick job of the Michigan trip

ADRIAN, Mich. – The North Park University women’s volleyball team took six game-winning sets on Saturday afternoon as the Vikings swept past Albion College (25-23, 25-15, 25-19) and Adrian College (25 -18, 25-18, 25-15) at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center. This is the third consecutive victory for Coach Michel Sopocyof the team, and the fourth in the last five matches.

In fashion, North Park took off in the opening set of their opener with a 9-3 lead over Albion. The point rush was fabricated by kills of Rhianna huebner and Kharlie Simeona-French, as well as service aces for Katy’s failures and Adriana rodriguez.

Albion was not easy, however, tying the set three times at 15-15, 22-22 and 23-23. A Simeona-French kill and block would give the Vikings a first victory, setting the tone for the rest of the night.

Between Saturday’s two games, the powerful NPU offense would combine for 15 aces and 80 kills while the defense contributed 11 blocks and 109 digs. The Vikings also kept their two opponents at hitting percentages below 100; Albion attacked with a .057 clip while Adrian averaged .057.
