With the NFL Combine just days away, let’s look at a plausible scenario the Las Vegas Raiders could encounter on draft day.

For the first time since 2018, the scouting and preparation functions for the NFL Draft will fall under a new regime. Gone are Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock. Instead, the Raiders will follow the “Patriot Way” with new general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels.

The question is what kind of philosophy the new duo will adopt at this year’s player selection meeting. More importantly, a lot of Raider Nation members wonder what they will do with free agency. This question is going to have a huge effect on how draft day goes, especially in the first three rounds.

When considering what’s at stake in the next two years, the Raiders should strongly seek a free agent solution to the right tackle. Derek Carr’s window to bring home a championship is closing, so to make the most of it, the Raiders’ brass must surround him with adequate protection and a bevy of weaponry.

As I prepare for the combine harvesterwhere I’m going to get a closer look at many of these players, let’s take a look at a scenario where the Raiders go offensive line, wide receiver and a surprising position in the first two days.
